Grease - 1, Cornea - 0

Over the years I have been burned by flying grease/fat/oil in a lot of places, but today took the cake. Decided I wanted a hamburger for supper at work so cooked it up ahead of time. Picked up the pan and stabbed the spatula into it to make sure it was cooked. Big splat of grease sprang out of the pan and right smack into my eye. That shit hurts!!

Lost tonight's shift, had to switch tomorrow's to Sunday and cancel my 'get out of the house' plans with my best friend whom I get to see maybe twice a year if that.

Damn! It's not serious I hope. :o

Luckily just burned the first layer on my cornea. It'll heal. He froze my eye and I have cream to put in every hour. No way could I work with all those fluorescent lights at work.......sunglasses just to see this damn screen

Yorkie, dropped into 'my' thrift store today, needed pants for work. They're clearing out making room for spring/summer clothes so it's fill a bag for $10.....don't have to be able to close it.

Picking is pretty slim, it's been going on all month but scored a couple pairs of pants, light weight turtle necks and a woven cotton vest from Northern Reflections. Also got some nice light weight winter boots to save on wearing my suede ones out with Moses tromping through the woods. Well, that filled less than half the bag, so hit up the kiddie section as my best friend's daughter just welcomed her third boy in less than three years. Filled the bag almost to the top, then threw in a really nice purse for my manager (she had this damn old lady style one)

Adding up all the tag prices (and they are good prices to start off with)........$54.75 for the nice little sum of $10!!

God, I love shopping like that!!

Jersey you have always found a way to do what is right for your animals, you have always put their needs first.......regardless of the financial cost or the cost to your heart.

Now it's time for you to channel that strength and apply it to yourself. You are a good person and you deserve to live a good life.

Start with looking at your options, search for info on what you are entitled to (yes, even part of 'his' house) and then map out YOUR goal and the steps to reach it.

Every step you take in that direction takes you one closer to being able to be that person you have had to push into the shadows. Let the light shine on you and in you.

I agree with rottnmom jersey, look at your options. It's YOUR life. Carpe diem!!
