My little man needs glasses PIC added

I am shocked the eye doctor says my son has very poor vision, he'll have coke bottle glasses that will magnify his eyes, he has the most beautiful eyes I am so sad they will be covered with glasses.

I hope that when he's a teen he can get contacts as I was teased in school and my glasses weren't even thick.

So my question is does $99 for kids frames and lenses seem reasonable? I thought it did but now I'm wondering if I could have gotten a better deal somewhere else.

I didn't even realize until now that I was wrong in that I thought he couldn't see things in the distance, I never remember, so farsighted means he can't see things up close is this why the glasses will magnify his eyes? It's confusing. I'm nearsighted then because I cannot see distance but can see things up close. I thought he had the same problem as me.

Well hubby needed thick glasses when he was a kid.. Had the worst site. He had eye surgery before he joined the forces.

So all is well.. I think that is okay. I paid 210 for mine with lenses.

My son got glasses at that age too.
A year or so later his RX changed and a year after that he no longer
needed glasses.
The dr. said that eyes can improved sometimes and every year since his eyes have checked out fine and he is 15yrs now.
I think glasses are adorable anyhow, Imjust got my first pair too 8)

2 of my kids have had glasses since they were 2and 3 so I find it perfectly normal I guess

That price sounds reasonable smurry I pay over $400 for mine, bifocals. I didn't think kids made fun of kids with glasses anymore since they have become so stylish. I laugh at older people who won't wear them but can't see anything. So vain, me I don't give a hoot I just want to see. 8)

I feel better about what I paid, my cousin who works for pearl vision said he could not have given me that deal even with his discount.

As for the teasing, if his glasses weren't going to be so thick (magnify his eyes) I don't think he would be teased for wearing glasses, it's the fact that they will be so thick, the kids might tease him about that. I hope they don't, he's such a sensitive kid.

So his big beautiful eyes will be magnified.
My grandsons little "girlfriend" wears glasses like that and it really does show off her gorgeous eyes.

That's too bad smurry, I would be fretting too. We worry so much about our little guys and their feelings. If my little guy needed glasses, I would prep him for it by saying how cool glasses are, etc. I would also prepare him with a few lines he could use if anyone teases him. I would have to think it through, but off the top of my head I would think something like - "glasses make my eyes work super good - like superman!" or, "like a robot" if he is into robots... something along those lines.

Here he is sporting his new glasses. It will take some time for him to get used to wearing them, he's not very happy about them right now.




His teacher said she's going to wear her reading glasses tomorrow to make William more comfortable wearing his and there is another little boy he will meet tomorrow that wears glasses.

Thanks guys, he wore them pretty much all day he had a few moments where he disliked them and wanted them off but I convinced him to put them back on, they will take some getting used to. I'm glad there will be another student in his class with glasses hopefully they will become good friends. And I'm happy the teacher is joining in and bringing her glasses to make him feel more comfortable.

I wear glasses myself and I think it makes you look smarter as well.

I also wear glasses, well... I wear contacts (my glasses aren't even the right prescription) but after today I was thinking maybe I should have my eyes tested again and get some new stylish glasses myself and wear them more when I'm with him to help him feel comfortable about wearing them.
