Gotta love dogs

Guess who was sprayed by a skunk at 230 this morning. Think we got the smell out of him and the house.
This is the recipe for dog wash.

1l of hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1-2 tbsp dawn dish soap

Then we put bowls of apple cider vinegar around the house to absorb the smell.

Oh god, how I remember going through that.....just after midnight. What is it with dogs and night time encounters?

Only thing we had on hand was a good size bottle of lemon juice. Two rinses of that then 'normal' shampoo did a semi decent job. But even after putting her in the spare room to dry off and give us some breathing room we noticed the smell getting even stronger. Warning: if you have an air exchanger SHUT IT OFF!! Damn skunk sprayed about 10 ft away from the intake and the stink was sucked into every room of the house.

Bullet, what is the quantity for the peroxide? Am I seeing 1 liter??


**Moses spotted his first coyote about 15 min ago, just as we were heading out the front door. Bloody thing was in the driveway. Still think I'd rather deal with the after effects of a skunk encounter.

Yeah it's 1 liter.
Just a warning, it could lighten their fur. Tanks didn't but I read that it could.
His breath still smells of skunk ass.

Knock on wood, I've been lucky to not have to go through that. I can imagine the hour of work to get the smell out.

I hope to never have to use the recipe.
