In December one of our customers asked if she could adopt the cat for her elderly brother who had just lost his Snowball after 14 years. The boys were not being very nice to her and she just wasn't taming down as much as I would have liked living out in the shop sooooo I told her she was welcome to try and place her in her home on a trial basis and she must have her spayed plus the fact that she was NOT a nice cat, good looking yes but not much of a charmer but I did think she would come around to be tamer in an indoor situation with no other cats or dogs as they were her crutch and bond buddies and she was to be returned if things didn't work out.
Every two weeks we would speak and at first she was as stand offish to humans as she was here and spent two weeks to three hiding and only coming out at night when the house was quiet to eat, drink and use the litter. She got a bit worse for a period and actually started to bite and scratch which she didn't do here. Slowly she got her act together and started to respond in a positive way and has become a polite purr monster that now enjoys being handled and cuddled. I am thrilled!!! She was spayed a few weeks ago and this weekend they are going to be taking her to the brothers home to be his permanent pet . She is very used to the man and has been to his home a few times already and was fine being there and not freaked out. This is such a success story...at first I thought she would never be a good house cat.
