Cops warn about ex-con

Police have issued a rare warning about a violent man who recently arrived in London.

Tim Paul Carew, 39, is unpredictable and has a lengthy criminal record, including 45 convictions for violent offences such as assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

Sarnia Police were warned last week by the Ministry of Community and Correction Services that Carew had moved to the city. He's believed to have family in Sarnia.

On Saturday, London police learned Carew had moved here, and have been in contact with him.

“Both the public and Mr. Carew can be assured that London Police will be monitoring him closely,” officials said in a press release.

“If you do see Mr. Carew, exercise caution and do not approach him.”

Carew is part of the province’s intensive supervision program and on two probation orders. However, he refuses to participate in treatment programs.

In 2007, Carew was sentenced to seven months in jail for threatening to blow up a government building in Sarnia. That same year, he was convicted of threatening to kill a local tavern manager and a young student, and was sentenced to five months in jail.

Oh great. Just great. "45 convictions for violent offences" and NOW "London Police will be monitoring him closely". THAT'S a comfort. And just in case you happen to come across this guy (and you'd know because I'm SURE he'd introduce himself), don't approach him? What, is he going to have a reserved seat all to himself on the bus just so we all know not to sit next to him? Gah, him or Joe, not sure who I'd pick to sit next to on a long, rush hour drive through downtown, or around downtown.

Btw, hubby said his picture was on A Channel news and he'd stick out in a crowd.

American laws aren't any better,and yes Fleas he is a pretty boy lOL

I didn't see him at our Cinnabon, lucky for us.

You would think after 45 convictions that they would notice a pattern. :face:
