CERTAIN KIRKLAND SIGNATURE BRAND COOKIES MAY CONTAIN PIECES OF METAL

OTTAWA, August 10, 2010 – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. are warning the public not to consume the Kirkland Signature brand cookies described below as these products may contain pieces of metal.
The following Kirkland Signature brand cookies, sold in packages of 1.1 kg (24 cookies) and purchased between July 26 and August 7, 2010 are affected by this alert:
Brand = Kirkland Signature
Product = Chocolate Lover’s Cookie Pack - Item # 169327
UPC - 0 00001 69327 0
Pack on dates - 21/JL/10 to 07/AU/10 inclusive
Brand - Kirkland Signature
Product - Chocolate Chunk Cookies - Item # 237361
UPC - 0 00002 37361 4
Pack on dates - 21/JL/10 to 07/AU/10 inclusive
There have been no reported injuries associated with these products.
These products were sold through Costco Wholesale stores nationally.
Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd, Ottawa, Ontario, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. Costco Canada is in the process of contacting all members, who purchased these products, by phone. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.

Uhhhhh, great..... thanks for telling us? Don't know about anybody else but in this house the cookies would have barely made it in the door before they'd be hoovered back. "Recall" might be the wrong wording here.
