Moving on to Rainbow Bridge Empty
PostSubject: Moving on to Rainbow Bridge   Moving on to Rainbow Bridge Icon_minitimeMon 15 Jul 2013, 1:30 pm

My beautiful girl Casey went gracefully and peacefully On Monday July 8th 2013 to Rainbow Bridge.

She was deaf and blind and becoming so disabled that her quality of life was close to nil.
She never lost her sweet nature and she perhaps was just existing.
I made the decision to let her go before pain set in.
Tia and I miss her terribly but will remember her dearly for her assistance in raising Tia
from a pup and teaching her boundaries and manners an how to be a good dog.

At my age now I will resist the temptation to get another cocker since I am trying not to obtain
any more pets that may outlive me.

Run free sweet girl with no ailments and enjoy meeting up with Jake again.
You will be in our hearts forever.

Sorry to hear about your girl.
It's difficult when we love them so much to make decisions like that.
I'm happy Casey wasn't in pain.
I'm so very sorry that you are.

Hug on Tia and hug and hug.

Someone sent this to me after my dog died.
I was hurting so badly I didn't even know who to thank.
I'm sure I could look but it's still hard to look to say TY.

I read it when my dog died an I cried and cried and cried.
I read it again at times like this to share with you what someone was kind enough to share with me. (who I never properly thanked)

NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

I give you this one thought to keep --

I am with you still – I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone –

I am with you still – in each new dawn.

The original poem has been attributed to Mary Frye as author, and reads:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Oh no, I'm so very sorry to read this. Casey had the best life with you that any dog could possibly have. Take comfort in the thought that she's waiting, pain-free, "just beyond" with a wagging tail, doing that giddy little Spaniel wiggle every time you think of her.

My condolences and ((hugs)).
