PostSubject: Calluses on elbows   Calluses on elbows Icon_minitimeSun 20 Jan 2013, 4:35 pm

I noticed Panzer has a little cluster of calluses on one elbow. I googled it and found out it's from sleeping on hard sufaces. We don't have carpets only hardwood. He has a huge dog bed and he's allowed on the couches but he sleeps on the floor a lot, I guess because it's cooler. Anyone have experience with this? What should I use to soften them up? I don't want them to crack and get infected Sad

My dog has the same thing. If you 100% know he won't lick his elbow, I heard you can use bag balm. If you think he might then vaseline. Even with a dog bed lying out, they will still lay on hard surfaces.

I have never seen bag balm around here. I read of a couple who used bag balm then wrapped it in gauze and used a baby sock with the end cut off over the gauze, she said it worked great.
