PostSubject: Tonight's Adventure   Tue 22 Jun 2010, 1:09 am

Due to the cats one of the Mommy gophers is now deceased cheers , might end my plans for my Vopher farm. Found a new problem though. It's getting dark and hubby calls me as he's spotted something on the tree line and at first thinks tis a badger. On closer inspection it's a porcupine, crap the last thing we need around here. He's making plans to "get rid of it"...lol, he's out there trying to herd it away but she isn't cooperating. About a half hour later, and now it pitch dark he discovers there are two. She has a baby!!!

Hopefully they will bugger off during the night, the cats are all in and the dogs will be on leashes very soon for last pee of the night. I have never seen a baby porker ever. Sorry for the poor pic quality as the lighting was via flashlight. Babies are near black and obviously born with self protection mode built in. Has to be the Summer Solstice kicking into effect. Smile Smile Smile

Momma, she only showed her ass...and her quills.

And junior who also only showed it's ass. Little buggers.

Hey Pooper, if you get rid of it, send me the quills. They are used in many crafts and are quite expensive. I have seen some quill boxes worth over $3500.00

This one goes for $2500.00 Just an example of the detail and craftsmanship. It is extremely difficult to work with quills but for the people who can the rewards are outstanding.

Because I have taken this image from a website I want to credit where I got the image from: http://www.lillianscrafts.com/catalog/item.asp?catid=46

Lilian's Native Crafts which is located on Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reservation, Manitoulin Island, ON
