Shipping Sperm

Does anyone have any experience with shipping sperm for A.I. for dogs?
We are moving across the country and there are 2 people in Ontario that want
repeat litters with my male.
One of the females was A.I.'d but it was 'fresh'.
There is a vet that I know specializes in A.I on the coast in B.C. but I'm not sure of the
cost for shipping and is this extra cost to be paid by the bitches owner, or do I just increase the
stud fee to accomodate the extra fee?

Only ever have done this with horses and frozen semen so I can't answer your question but if you do get an answer from someone more knowledgable about dogs please post it here as this is of interest to me

I'm not sure, I have read on another forum that if you're shipping in the same country it should be quick as you don't have to go through customs wait. But I'm not sure of the cost. Are you sick of Ontario and moving back out West?

All expenses with AI is borne by the owner of the bitch.

Shipping fresh chilled is pretty expensive. If I were planning this sort of breeding I would be building in about 1200 for the AI costs.

1) progesterone testing and timing of the insemination is important.

2) if I REALLY wanted puppies, I would do a surgical implant, even with fresh chilled.
