Say that ten times fast. ;)

For those of you who celebrate it, I hope it was enjoyable!

BBE, it's an old Celtic holiday. Most know it better as "May Day".

It celebrates fertility, purification, and the beginning of the summer season/return of the sun.

As mentioned a Celtic pagan sabbat (one of eight) and a popular day for hand fasting. Hand fasting basically is a ceremony where a couple commits to a one year binding relationship. Many covens gather for the Maypole celebration, a phallic symbol embedding into mother earth as part of a fertility festival. In my area there are many covens who get together to celebrate and solitary practitioners attend also at an undisclosed location. Smile Smile Smile
