Gotta love insurance companies. Water heater leaks and both the bedroom and living room carpet are soaked in spots, and the drywall is wet about 8" up. They're going to cut out the spots, put in patches (carpet has to be 10 years old now), and fan the drywall....LOL. Shit never gets old.

Hoping the landlord does it right, the insurance guy says with his deductible he will have to pay for the work anyway...might as well do the whole floor.

BC is very Tenant orientated. If it was here, if he refused to repair it properly, he would have to return to you current months rent and the full damage deposit, Plus give you up until the subsequent months end to move out. So if it was today, You'd have til end of June rent free =P OR Also if it isn't repaired in a timely manner, you can call him up to 3 times, within 48 Hours, at the end of two days if its not being worked on, because it effects living conditions, you can spend whatever is within reason, even if it means ripping all the drywall out, re-flooring, etc etc and deduct it from future rent =) Every cost involved, you'd pay nothing in the end. I don't know if Ontario is the same, but the BC Tenancy Act is literally the crucify the landlord book.

Woot! London doing me proud for the second straight month.
The London area unemployment rate soared again in April to 9.9%, just a shade below the dreaded double digits.
The April numbers continue a relentless climb in recent months and gave London-St. Thomas Canada's highest big-city unemployment rate for the second month in a row.

So I get done work tonight and junior had asked me to grab her a treat from the store. No biggie, so I go do that. I come out and a car is backing out on a horrible angle, aimed directly at mine.....but she stops. I figure all is good, so I start walking back towards my car, then she starts backing up AGAIN.....you can guess where I'm going with this, lol.
Nothing major damage wise, but may need some touch up paint or whatever. Gonna take it to the shop tomorrow to see if it will cost her anything.
Btw, it was the Mazda, not the Honda.

Hey now!
She was a young girl, maybe 20ish. She did her best not to break down, but ended up in tears before it was over. I hope it's nothing serious, she seemed genuinely torn up by it and I'd hate for it to cost her a ton. Better her than me though.
