| Kewl, you should see the looks I'm getting right now. Just caught him scratching his stitches so I grabbed a T shirt, chopped the arms out of it and stuffed him into it. Hehe.......Mr. Regal Pose has taken on a whole new attitude. Apparently the fact that I hacked up an Aeropostale shirt just for him doesn't register at all. | |

| He is one BIG handsome boy. I'm out of the loop...I thought his surgery would have been a neuter but that's just not the right spot. Hope he heals fast and is back to normal soon. | |

| Hey Pooper!! and nope, not from a microchip. When he first came to us he had a rather flat, almost oval disc shaped lump between his shoulder blades. His foster, the head of Lab Rescue where I had him scanned for one and the vet all felt it was just a fatty cyst. About two months ago it seemed to rotate onto it's side, giving it more of a ridge feeling........the whole time no change to what was normal skin tone or loss of fur. Then a couple of weeks ago while clipping his nails I did my usual check over and noticed the 'ridge' was now more of a large angry looking 'nub'......parted the fur to find this............ Two days later we were at the vet, where she shaved it and did a needle aspiration. That made visible not only the nub, but the ping pong ball sized lump underneath....... The needle aspiration results came back as a cyst, with crystallization and some cancer cells (can't remember which kind though as the vet was reading the whole report to me over the phone). The recommendation was for total resection with wide margins. Three days before his surgery it appeared to 'erupt' but with no draining or even leakage, except for the occasional small bit of blood at the 'lips'. It was almost like a membrane within a membrane........... And definitely the wrong spot for a neuter! It was removed with clean margins on Tuesday. Vet said about two weeks for biopsy results, so I imagine it's gone to the Veterinary College on PEI. | |

| Good thing it's been taken care of and hopefully the biopsy reveals nothing bad. He looks healthy and happy and BIG. You're a good dog mommy | |

Daughter painted Zeus's toenails blue to match his harness,if looks could have killed she would have been just another bone for him to chew on

| One week down, one to go. He's perking up even more..........metacam ran out. His big sister was here for a visit yesterday, came in the door carrying a ladder she was returning. You'd think the hounds of hell had been let loose. NOT allowed to bring 'strange' things into the house again. That includes the 'collar' the vet sent home.....took a few days for him to even notice it was sitting on the freezer......but when he did it got a good 'talking to'. We walked her out to her car when she left and as she pulled away one of his other quirks kicked in......he doesn't like things that turn........so he glomped onto her front tire as she was backing out. DUMBASS | |

Never met a dog who loved to have his feet rubbed, held or played with like he does. LOVES to 'hold hands'.

| 'Unique' is one way of describing him.......but not the kind of unique you'd want to clone But I loves him in spite of his quirks! | |

| Got the all clear from the vet. They had a 'bit' of a hiccup though. The container arrived at the lab, sealed and labeled........with with nothing in it. Apparently with him losing his IV towards the end of the surgery and having to inject the hydromorphone instead it got overlooked. But the vet had a consultation with the lab and based on what they found in his needle aspirations and the fact that she got good wide margins, they feel quite confident like 90-95% that it was benign and he's as good as new. Poor vet, she couldn't apologize enough. I'm trying him without the shirt today. I know it was bugging him cause it kept shifting and pulling on his neck, chest and upper legs. If he doesn't start scratching at the incision I'll let him go topless | |

| Thanks M'Fredrick and he's doing great. Back to his old quirky self. His fur is slowly growing in, but we need a trip back to the vets......piece of a stitch still embedded in his scar tissue. Hopefully that's the end of any 'pop ups' as he's not a great fan of the clinic......especially the scales | |

| I'm glad he's doing well ... May I ask what's a dog like that weigh? Do they eat a lot? The breed itself impresses me | |
