PostSubject: Shamrock warning   Fri 08 Mar 2013, 1:23 pm

I was looking at the Sobey's flyer and they have Shamrock plants on sale.
I love them and wanted to get some but then I read this.

http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/shamrock/

Not sure if anyone else knew this.
Better safe then sorry.
The pretty plant stays at Sobeys.

I really have to remember to research BEFORE I buy plants.
I remembered to check on Shamrocks but I just bought some beautiful plants and didn't research first.

They are beautiful yorkie.
I've never seen white ones.

Mine look like this...

I'll still plant them but in the front where the animals don't go.

What is a really pretty plant (flowers) that are safe around dogs??
I want something big with lot's of colour.
Any ideas?

There's a LOT of plants poisonous to dogs, but most taste so bad to them that they either won't touch them, or not eat enough to be deadly.

I have an apple tree in the backyard. We rake up the apples when they fall but only to keep the yellowjackets at bay. My dogs don't bother with them.

I think my dogs' are a little slow UM.
Tastes bad seems to taste good to them.
Sam will try anything and the others play follow the leader.
They spend the first half hour in the morning chomping on June Bugs.
6 dogs out there going crunch crunch-blech.
gross.

Thanks for the link.
That's the first time I've seen that one.

Well great. I thought of you the other day when I checked my oven for June Bugs (and I don't even have a vent pipe on my oven, it's got a glass top). I thought of you when my son told me he found a June Bug downstairs. Now I'll think of you every time I snuggle up to my dogs, wondering if they have June Bug breath.

Ewwwww. Although eating the darned things is almost like cheap pest control. Still ewwwww though, I hate June Bugs. They have no sense of direction and I have long hair.

Ok, need to stop thinking about it now.
