Verdict reached in Rafferty trial

Heard on the radio they reached a verdict, no clue what it is yet. Guilty as fuck imo.

To be announced in minutes they say.

CBC has coverage.

Guilty on all 3 counts.

Adam Longoria who killed,raped,sodimized and burned 14 year old Alicia DeBolt was also found guilty of all counts.In Kansas that is a mandatory 50 year sentence before he can even apply for parole. At that time he will be 87 years old.

That sure beats a 'life sentence' here 50 years behind bars should be a minimum for anyone who commits these horrors.

Absolutely nothing can bring peace to the families, but at least knowing that these monsters cannot harm any others and will likely come to harm themselves at some point over those years must give them a start to healing.

A guy in Cape Breton just got 2 years for shooting his great uncle......in the ear. The victim suffered hearing loss and the shooter had already spent 7 months in jail so they reduced his sentence from 31 months.

'Life' - 25 years without parole for abduction, rape and murder, 2 years for shooting someone's ear and making them deaf. What is wrong with this picture?

I don't believe in the reduced sentencing for time already served. I say life sentences for murder

I believe the Canadian government should bring back the death penalty and this guy should be on the waiting list.

I agree at times... but it would have to be a slam dunk case. Otherwise, what if you have someone that was found guilty and they actually are innocent. If they are killed immediately, then years later its found out they didn't do it, than an other innocent person has died.

I understand that bullet,but how long are we supposed to support the jackasses?

I do know there are a few cases where years later it is proven that they were not guilty,but in reality it is very few in conjunction with the number of guilty people in prison.

I happen to live 9 miles from a State Hospital/Prison,not a good feeling when some of them break free and are running the streets

i completely agree. Just playing devils advocate. I could just imagine the law suits of the family of the innocent party that was put to death... I wonder if the pay offs from the government would be equal to the cost of housing all of the jail birds.

I heard a lawyer say if Rafferty appeals legal aid pays for it. Just shoot the bastard...........

while in jail, when you kill someone you shouldn't have the right to be placed
somewhere safer in case another inmate tries to kill you.

Thats a good way to go about it. Let them settle it amongst themselves, just have the officers turn their backs juuuust long enough.

And now I hear "The Greyhound Bus" killer is getting out on day passes. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity but he's okay now ( four years later!!!!!!!)
