garage sale tips

We are having a garage sale soon. Any tips or advice for me? We will have an ad in the local newspaper, and park a car with balloons in front of the house.

We will have at least two people doing it, four tables to lay stuff out on. Mainly a ton of kids clothes, and some household and toys.

What is the best way to put prices on clothes? I think the little stickers would fall off.

BTW hubby still not working, but at least now he is getting EI, so he has calmed down a bit.

Kijiji has a garage sale category.

I would also state in your ad that you have a lot of children's items. The collectors will pass you by. I have seen the best results on people selling a bag for a few dollars and allowing them to pick from a specific table to fill it.

I would be listing the top items in your ad also so people know what to expect. Personally, I don't have kids so I don't get out of the car to even look at those sales but my sister on the other hand loves those ones the most.
