I remember when I had to learn property insurance at my previous place of employment, the instructor was mentioning that there is a fault line near the Ottawa / Montreal area, because I was wondering why they would think about needing earthquake insurance in that area. It's scary what's happening in the world - the over throwing of the governments in the Middle East, earthquakes, floods in Autstralia, the tsunami in Japan ... What's next

Not the end,I think we have a long ways to go yet,but I do shudder to think what may come next

I don't think it was a big deal or unusual.


"On a global scale, this was a minor earthquake," said Stephen Halchuk, a seismologist with Natural Resources Canada.

"This is the West Quebec seismic region where we record 100-150 quakes a year, most of them too small to feel. A quake of 4 or more happens every two to three years."
