Fingers crossed.......cause if I pull this off I should gain enough confidence to go on with the other three.

I also love the blue paisley fabric. You have talent. I would haven't been able to re-upholster (sp?) a chair and stop from pulling my hair out. lol Beautiful work.

OMG BBE that's priceless!!!! Talent, no.......big hopes, yes. Those pics are in order from top to bottom....the 70's paisley pieced together cotton was the first layer off.........the upside down, naked, feet missing shot is the current one (along with me on my knees saying lots of prayers and other words) Giggle

Couldn't copy the pic from the ebay listing so took a photo of my monitor with the sample showing.......here's what's on it's way from N.Carolina. Hope it looks as good on the chair as it does in their ad. Fell in love with it, matches my colors and suits the era of the chair too.

Totally crappy, glaring shot

Still sitting in the same spot........ran to Can. Tire with a gift card from my son from Christmas. Picked up much needed clamps and wood filler. Waiting on the material from the states..........at Canada Post's rate of delivery I may see it in a couple of weeks. Only have two days off in the next week and a half, but will then have two days off......so hopefully get a drive on then to get as much done as possible. Think I'm going to take more apart than I first planned, I want to make sure joints are not going to let go after I get it all redone.

Can't wait to see your kitchen.......that should help me get my ass in gear. If you can redo a whole damn kitchen I should be able to finish a measly chair. lol!

Need some input here.........trying to decide on trim for the chair (not that it's anywhere near ready for trim). It's much cheaper for me to order off ebay than to travel to town to find some, but damn it's hard to tell just looking at pics on the screen.

Should I go with this denim blue I've found or get a matching burgundy???

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300445761009&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_913

Here's a better shot of the material........wish it would hurry up and get here.

The material finally arrived and I am so glad I didn't jump the gun and go for blue trim.

Described as burgundy/teal/gold..........never did pick out 'gold' in the shots.........my description would be maroon/green/camel. I've always thought of teal as a greenish blue and the 'teal' in this is more towards an aqua green.

Taking it with me Wednesday when I head to town for my doctor's appt. I'll hit a couple of fabric stores to see if I can find trim to go with it.

Even in these shots the 'teal' still looks bluish...but believe me, it's not. Love the old fashioned look and feel though.

Finally found trim.....not that I'll be needing it for a bit, still in the tear down process with the chair and putting a leg back together.

Saw this in a book at Fabricville, really hard to find trims now as most stores that sold that type of stuff have disappeared. I could order it in, comes from the US.....about 14 day wait. Trip in to order $20 gas, 10 yards at $4.99/yd plus 15% tax and another trip in to pick it up $20..............hmmmmm, NOPE!

Found someone selling the same trim, different colors, on ebay......turns out they have an online store (again US). They had my color there, 12 yd pkg for $19.95, shipping $5..........you betcha!!

It's on it's way and I absolutely LOVE it against the material......so glad they showed me that book.

Likely hard to imagine based on the way my shots of the material came out, but this is perfect with it.

If anyone is ever looking for trims.......upholstery, drapery or even for decorating a lamp or pillows, whatever.....check them out

Can't wait to see the finished project!!! That fabric is very similar to one of our old couches I inherited from my Gran. Not the colors but the fabric itself, I call it sculptured. It was so soft and really tough on wear. I sent my project to the dump...wasn't happy about it because it would have been nice finished but it was stored in the greenhouse and the cats were the only ones enjoying it. Was a camel back (I think thats what their called) with lots of wood and claw feet, the cats weren't happy. Smile

But Yorkie if you still lived here you would have been the first I would have called to cart it away. It was in the greenhouse for 3 years or better so I kinda knew I'd never finish it, was nice though. I like stuff like that on other peoples houses but not mine I'm a leather furniture king of a girl.
