PostSubject: airport security faux pas   Sun 05 Dec 2010, 12:26 am

I always fly out of the Edmonton airport, and am used to that airport and how security works there etc. So I am flying home last week and am in a different city. I see that I am routed through the line that has the special x-ray type machine. I am in a bit of a hurry, so I told the security guy manning the area where you put your items in the trays for scanning - "I will take the pat down." I thought this would expedite things, as they are going to have to grab a female.

He looks at me like I am crazy and says - "What? You want a pat down?" I looked at him and said, "Well, I don't want to go through the machine. "

He looks at me suspiciously and says that it is a random selection for the machine, and I was not randomly selected. I thought for sure I had just booked myself an internal exam for that!

So, for future, wait until you are asked for your preferences, do not try to help things along! In hindsight, I am sure I seemed either suspicious or perverted, but luckily I didn't get an unusual amount of (internal) scrutiny. No

LOL... I can just imagine what that guy was thinking... crazy perv!

I would have turned red as soon as I realized what just happened.

Geesh, I hope you didn't show him your ID!! He just might drop in on you someday to see if you're still interested in that 'pat down'
